Toolkits: Toolkit: Adventure Activities

An adventure activity can be the main element, or a subsidiary part, of any type of visit – Routine and Expected, Day, Residential or Overseas Visit.

Visit plans and risk assessments for trips which include an adventure activity can be completed in a range of ways potentially with different people responsible for different elements of that process. To help clarify that process refer to the ‘General Guidelines to Planning a Visit which involves Adventure Activity’ in the toolkit below.

The toolkit also contains a planning flowchart, a generic risk assessment template and worked examples for a range of adventure activities (which can be adapted for a specific visit) as well as sample parental information and consent letters.

Further information about visits that involve Adventure Activities can be found in Chapter 12.
