For many everyday activities, there is no need for a qualified first aider as there is easy access to professional help and other staff who have been first aid trained. If difficulties in accessing professional help are anticipated then further consideration is required. For specific information on how this is applied in your Local Authority or organisation contact your Technical Advisor. A suitably stocked first aid kit should be taken on all visits.
All adults in the group should know how to contact the emergency services and have the means to carry it out. They should be aware of the limitations of mobile phones in remote locations.
